Bar Salts: Should You Make the Switch From Disposables?

It’s been a little while now since the ELF Bar disposable vape dominated the UK market, but since the release of disposable bar salts like ElfLiq, SKE Crystal, Bar JuiceJAKD, and Baa Juice, disposable sales have reduced dramatically.

This is due to consumers realising how much of an environmental impact disposable vapes had on the environment and the huge financial burden compared to “bar liquids”. The savings can be as high as £80 per month when switching to a rechargeable, reusable vape, such as our disposable quit kits.

All in all, making the switch from disposable vapes to bar liquids can save your pocket and the environment. Meanwhile, the option to adjust the nicotine content makes it so much easier to wean yourself off nicotine, allowing for a much easier quitting journey. After all, vaping should be a transition period between cigarettes and a nicotine-free life! So, if you’re an avid user of disposables, be sure to read on to discover exactly what bar liquid has to offer and why it might be a wise idea to switch up your vaping habits.

What are Disposable Bar Salts?

Bar salts effectively deliver the extra strong flavourings found in disposable vapes in e-liquid form. Traditionally, e-liquid brands like us use between 15-25% strength flavourings, which always hit the spot… until disposable vapes made their mark and left vapers thirsty for more flavour.

UK disposable vapes, including ELF Bars, SKE Crystal Bars, Lost Mary vapes, and Elux Bars, have much more concentrated flavouring; we would estimate around 40%, and who doesn’t like more flavour?

Disposable bar salts, also known as disposable vape e-liquids and bar liquids, are essentially just nicotine salt E-Liquids made with more flavouring in the base mixture. They also typically use a stronger sweetener—but other than that, they look and function the same way as standard nic salts.

Benefits of Disposable Bar Salts

Bar salts offer several incredible benefits, including:

  • More flavour per puff
  • More sweetener and ice (though not always)
  • They taste just like disposables
  • Better cost savings compared to disposable vapes
  • More longevity compared to disposable vapes

Unfortunately, as we all know, disposables don’t last very long; this is due to the TPD legal limit of 2ml of E-Liquid in a device, pod, or tank, which is not a huge amount. Heavy vapers can consume 2ml of E-Liquid in as little as a few hours, though for most vapers, a disposable will last about a day.

Now, the legal volume limit in a bottle of e-liquid (containing nicotine) is 10ml, which is five disposables’ worth per bottle. With Dispergo, we offer Mix & Match E-Liquid offers on an array of E-Liquids, including our 3 for £10 E-Liquids offer, which includes SKE Crystal and Bar Juice 5000—offering the same amount of liquid as 15 disposables! Yes, you do have to buy a device and pods, but even with that in mind, the savings are drastic.

Disposable Bar Salt Brands

ELF Bar has decided to bring out the same level of flavouring in their e-liquid range, which has many of the same flavours (and some new ones!). Elfliq is available in 5mg/ml, 10mg/ml, and 20mg/ml nicotine strengths across the UK.

SKE Crystal Bar has recently released Crystal Bar Salts, which, again, are the same flavours found in Crystal Bars, just in e-liquid form. Lost Mary has released MaryLiq, and Elux have released their nic salts called Elux Legend Salts.

Bar Juice, Elfliq, and SKE Crystal Bar Salts are all made in China; however, JAKD is a UK-made double concentrated range made from UK-made flavours as well. The range consists of Dispergo’s best-selling flavours out of our extensive catalogue, and we’ve double-concentrated them, giving you the same flavour punch as a bar liquid.

There’s also Baa Juice, another range of e-liquids made by us offering budget-friendly disposable vape flavours for your pod vapes and starter vape kits. These are ideal if you’re after a classic disposable vape flavour—like Pink Lemonade or Kiwi Passionfruit Guava—but you’re tight on cash.

Disposable Quit Kits

If you want to quit disposables, a disposable quit kit is the ideal place to start. With three bottles of juice, a device, and a pack of pods, it will keep you covered and stocked up for a couple of weeks. The device would need to be recharged (depending on use) about once a day, pods usually need to be replaced every week or two days, and a bottle of juice should last you roughly 3-4 days.

We generally recommend starting on the 10mg strength, as the refillable device will be more powerful than a normal disposable, and will therefore produce more vapour (and nicotine) per puff. This means you’ll get more nicotine in a puff from a pod vape than you would from a disposable, even if they both have a 20mg/ml (2%) nicotine strength.

It’s also a good way to reduce your nicotine intake for the day, as you can move down to 5mg, making it easier to quit vaping altogether as you slowly reduce the nicotine content.
